These self-portraits were painted and drawn between 1981 and 1988. Self-portraits painted during 1987-88 used codes and symbols to ponder disintegration and generational influences. These works were variously shown in the Portia Geach (1985), Moet and Chandon (1988) exhibitions and in The Intimate Experience at Ivan Dougherty Gallery (1991).
