Belconnen Arts Centre Ignite Mural, Coordinator, 2018. Participants: Michael, Felicity, Keith, Esme, Rachel, Vera, Ding, Tash, Jenelle, Maria, Brian, Neil.  Assistants: Ann, Penny. In a series of 2-hour workshops over a 9-week period, participants looked at examples of murals from around the world, discussed what themes they wanted to illustrate, did rough sketches and then collaged these together to form a design, which became the basis for the mural. This was a swift project and the participants showed amazing dedication to finish this 7.2 x 1.2 m work. The themes that developed were a celebration of the planned extension to the Belconnen Arts Centre, the joy of art making, the background of Canberra mountains and lakes, and the individual personalities of the participants. Three special frames were manufactured and installed in the gardens of the Ginninderry Arts Precinct, and the mural boards were housed in these frames, to be replaced in the future by the outcome of a subsequent workshop.

Materials: plywood sheets, sections of design cut out, paints.
